double denim cont.

So i ended up trying double denim out the other day, and was pretty happy with my look. I'm always a bit hesitant about stepping out of the house with something thats a little bit risky on. but as the day wore on I felt a lot more comfortable in it, which was probably due to the fact that i didn't have people pointing and laughing, like i had expected.

On a semi-related note. my mate euge and I were studying in the library today (wow that sounds epicly gay even writing that) when a living, breathing, afro combing fashion faux pas walked in. Now when i say this, i'm not usually one who is a prick about people's fashion sense. but this was bad.

He was the personification of unfashionable; same shade stone wash double-denim, jeans with joggers, a ranga-afro that moulds into a red beard, and a back pack. To top it all off, he walked around the study room, literally nurturing his luscious orange fro' with an afro comb that you would expect to see in a ghetto barber shop. (which we took much joy in laughing our arses off at)

But the thing about this kid (who we named Rangzilla) was, even though he literally probably broke every fashion no-no ever, he was comfortable. He almost had a strut about him. You could see it in the way he walked around, and the way he was combing his hair he thought he was the coolest motherfucker out. He is most likely oblivious to the 'rules' that he is breaking, but the fact was; he thought he was the coolest kid on the block....and for that i pay him massive kudos. it really had me questioning, what is cool? and i came to the conclusion, cool is what you make it...if you truly think something is cool, then to you, it is.

It really illustrates my point that, even though some people think you look like shit (even if it is most people who have any idea about what looks good), you can still feel like a million bucks. and that like what is cool;
fashion is in the eye of the beholder.

good on ya mum

so, I didn't really start this blog at the opportune time; heading into exams and what not. So I'm going to use that shitty excuse for my lack of blogging.

but i do have an update

I happened to score some particularly rad sunglasses out of my mother's cupboard about 3 weeks ago. I have been looking for a pair of round framed sunglasses for a while, and i didn't overly want to do the whole Ray Ban Clubmaster thing, because they're fast starting to turn into what the Wayfarer did about 2 years ago. I'm not saying that they're not cool, but you know once you find a 'knock off' copy of your sunnies in Cotton On, its time to do something different.

So I went and told my mum about these Tom Ford sunnies I had seen (which were bound to be about $600)
when she said that she would probably have a couple of old pairs of round framed glasses around from ages ago (it just so happens that mum was a bit of a mad bitch back in 80s/90s). So out she pulls these two little beauties. (please excuse my wanky photobooth pictures)

very happy with that little haul. she never ceases to amaze me that woman.
